Richard Wylie was Awarded: 1st place in Nature - Underwater category for the winning entry "Light and the Dragon" in the 2012 International Photography Awards.


Richard's series of 5 photos depicting both weedy and leafy seadragons was awarded 1st Place in this prestigious competition. Along with the 1st Place he was awarded honorable mentions in the highly contested Environmental Editorial and the Feature Story/Photo Essay Categories as well three more Honorable Mentions in the Nature - Underwater Non-Professional category.


The 2012 International Photography Awards received nearly 15,000 submissions from 103 countries across the globe. IPA is a sister-effort of the Lucie Foundation, where the top three winners are announced at the annual Lucie Awards gala ceremony. The Foundation's mission is to honor master photographers, to discover new and emerging talent and to promote the appreciation of photography.
